Light-and-Metal

Light and Metal, a double bill featuring MovEnt’s SURGE and Tara Cheyenne Performance’s bANGER

The inspiration for SURGE came from an idea of power—the physical power held within the muscles, bones and spirit of the body, but also the power that one body, one being can hold over another. This collision of people and power is where SURGE resides. We all remember that guy from high school: Black Sabbath pouring from his headphones, draped in standard army-issue clothing. Not much of a talker. You may have made fun of him or, at best, ignored him. In bANGER, Tara Cheyenne Friedenberg sheds some light on this social reject and reconciles the differences between us and him.
